R. Martlew, Ormskirk
A member is interested in any information on a cabinetmaker, R. Martlew,
working Ormskirk and whose label has been found in the chest of drawers
shown below. A suggested date for the chest is around 1790 and it measures
48" long, 21.5" wide and 43" high. The chest is in two
parts and has a concealed frieze drawer. A long case clock possibly
made by him has been noted.
